Steve Marzolf

Virginia Information Technologies Agency
Richmond, VA
Steve Marzolf has been active in public safety and information technology for over 30 years. After starting his career as a firefighter, he consolidated and managed a large 9-1-1 center in Northern Virginia for 11 years. In 2000, he moved to Richmond as Virginia's first Public Safety Communications Coordinator. This position was created to provide coordination and leadership as the state tackled the deployment of wireless 9-1-1 and to support Virginia’s 9-1-1 Services Board. In 2007, Steve was asked to manage the newly created Integrated Services Program (ISP) in the state’s IT agency, which consolidated the public safety communications, geographic information and telecommunications engineering divisions into one service area. The ISP supports state agencies and local governments with technical assistance, funding and consultative services.
